Xer Technologies AG and UMAG Announce Integration of V2Mag® and FastMag® for X8 PRO Long Endurance Multicopter

Dietikon, Switzerland & Birkerød, Denmark, [Aug 7, 2026]

Xer Technologies AG (Xer Tech Holding AB, Spotlight: XER) has successfully integrated UMAG’s V2Mag® and FastMag® magnetic detection payloads with its X8 PRO extended-endurance hybrid-electric multicopter, significantly expanding the platform’s capabilities for advanced airborne sensing missions. Purpose-built for drone operations, both payloads enable the precise airborne detection of magnetic anomalies associated with unexploded ordnance (UXO), as well as hidden land and naval mines. Equipped with UMAG’s FastMag® payload, the X8 PRO can also be deployed to support anti-submarine warfare (ASW) missions.

The X8 PRO delivers exceptional endurance when equipped with UMAG’s payloads, achieving flight times exceeding 2 hrs with the V2Mag® and 2.5 hrs with the FastMag®. This performance is enabled by the platform’s high aerodynamic and propulsion efficiency at the lower and higher flight speeds required by the V2Mag® and FastMag®, respectively, resulting in a proven and highly flexible airborne sensing solution. UMAG’s V2Mag® has demonstrated its effectiveness in demanding battlefield conditions since 2023, while multiple customers operationally deploy the X8 PRO.

Partnership Statements

“Partnering with UMAG brings together two highly complementary technologies: UMAG’s operationally proven magnetic detection systems and Xer Technologies’ X8 PRO multicopter, with its long endurance, rapid deployability, and compact logistical footprint. This integration provides defense and humanitarian operators with a flexible airborne solution for critical missions, ranging from the detection of unexploded ordnance and landmines to maritime surveillance and subsea threat detection. Together, we are enabling safer, faster, and more effective operations in some of the world’s most challenging environments.” – Erik Herlyn, CEO, Xer Technologies AG

“The V2Mag® and FastMag® are the world’s most sensitive and validated drone magnetic solutions for finding mines and unexploded ordnance across land, sea and subsea environments. Installing them on Xer Technologies’ X8 PRO extends their reach, surveying entire areas in a single flight whilst transmitting real-time detection data back to the end-user. For defense and humanitarian operators, that means wider coverage, faster clearance, and personnel kept clear of the hazard zone. Together, we are putting proven detection capability where operators need it, across land, sea, and subsea.” – Arne Døssing Andreasen, CEO, UMag Solutions
